The 6th Session of China-Serbia Scientific and Technological Cooperation Joint Committee was successfully held in Beijing, China on September 11th, 2023. The meeting will offer more space and close ties for scientists and researchers between two countries.   

Ms. Jelena Begović, Minister, Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia and Mr. Wang Zhigang, Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China co-chaired the meeting in Beijing.  

At the meeting, the two sides informed each other about science, technology and innovation policies, plans and the latest development in China and Serbia, summarized the overall progress of bilateral scientific, technological and innovative cooperation and the implementation of joint research projects since the Fifth Session of the Committee. Both ministers and representatives discussed potentiality in the fields of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, remote sensing technology, etc.. Both sides proposed the priorities for future Sino-Serbian scientific, technological, innovative cooperation and settled the date and venue of the next session of the Joint Committee.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Jelena Begović and Minister Wang Zhigang signed the Protocol of the 6th Session of Serbia-China Scientific and Technological Cooperation Committee. 

Before the visit to Beijing, Minister Jelena Begović, as a member of the Serbian Government Delegation visited Xiamen City and attended the 23rd China International Investment and Trade Fair there. The Ministry’s delegation led by State Secretary Dr. Vukašin Groztić also participated the activities of 2023 Pujiang Innovation Forum held in Shanghai.
